To all of our students that have just finished their HSC – a massive congratulations and well done is in order. Your hard work has paid off and now the anticipation awaits for the results to be released and university offers soon to follow.
So now you find yourself with lots of free time on your hands and are pondering the best ways to spend your it! Whilst you all you may want to do is sleep, this idle period will last a few days and then you will find yourself bored out of your brains! Remember that you have just spend the past three months with high activity and filling your days, to go from 100 to 0 will prove to give you more frustrations.
Here are our three top ideas to spend your time over the next few months to ensure that you relax and replenish from the exam period that has just passed, yet still be productive and ensure that your time is well spent.
- Spend time outdoors: Class time, study time and exam time are all spent indoors. You’ve been accustomed to the yellow lighting and forever changing temperature with the air-conditioning being constantly turned on and off. It’s now time to regain your vitamin D which will help boost your feelings of happiness and maintain a healthy immunity. Whilst outside, try read a book of your own choice (rather than a prescribed text).
- Pick you your hobby: We all have our favourite hobbies from painting to cooking and even exercising. Over the past 12 months these hobbies would have turned into a distant memory of the past. But now with extra time on your hands, you have the ability to pick up where you last left off. Don’t have a hobby? What a perfect time to find one!
- Volunteer your time: Of late, your time has been very precious and every second has been calculated to ensure that you are being as productive as possible. Now that you have more free time on your hands, it is a perfect opportunity to give back to those who have supported you along the way. You can spend some time at a local nursing home, religious organisation or even helping a neighbour with babysitting or doing the lawns. Any way that you spend this time will be very rewarding.
