The learning journey can be challenging as we are often faced with new a different situations which we feel we don’t have the ability to overcome. This can make students feel overwhelmed and unsure of themselves which then impacts on their ability to perform – even through they know that they can.
Our tutors understand and appreciate these situations and offer the extra support needed to conquer these times. Together, these three qualities allow our tutors to help our students holistically through their learning journey. Year 10 Subject Selection: One of our students was feeling very overwhelmed and unsure about the process. They wanted to make sure that they selected the right subjects for university entry but also wanted to enjoy their time over Year 11 and 12. Our tutors were able to point out the different pros and cons of each subject and provide an insight into what the next two years and beyond would look like. They gave open and honest comments about their experience, what they would have done differently and provided their best recommendation with the knowledge of what the student is capable of achieving.
Application for a part-time job: As our students reach Year 9 and 10 they are starting to consider part-time jobs to earn some pocket money and begin gaining their experience. Many of out students are keen to get going yet they feel overwhelmed about the process of putting together a resume, completing and application and then knowing what to say at the interview. Our tutors are able to provide their input assisting with putting together a resume and looking over an application to ensure that our students put their best foot forward. The interview is an important opportunity to present yourself to an employer so our team can run through some sentence starters and role play with students to ease their nerves.
