Congratulations and well done, another year done and dusted! Wow, when you look back it only seems like the year started yesterday but then when you take some time to consider what you have achieved you realise that it’s been a big year.
We always remind our students that they should take some time at the end of the year to reflect on what they have achieved and which of their personal goals they have reached.
When did you experience a point of challenge and how did you overcome this? What was something new or unseen that you did for the first time this year that you finally achieved after working on it for a long time? Even the smallest of activities should be considered as a big achievement is only reached once lots of little ones as successfully completed.
It is important that you take time to consider these at a year end because it shows how far you have come – and for others it is also a great indicator of the path ahead. If there is something academic that you are determined to achieve, such as getting more A’s than B’s on your next report, you need to reflect on what you accomplished this year and what’s left ahead of you to reach that goal for next year.
Upon your reflection you might also be thinking of the year ahead and we encourage that as much as possible. It’s easy to lose yourself over the summer holidays, so when you come back to term, you want to be as focused as possible and start with a solid start.
Wishing you all the best and we look forward to the year ahead!
