Often when students meet with their tutors, it is during the middle of term when there are a number of assessments due, notes that need to be made and a seemingly endless list of tasks with not enough time to complete them. Naturally, this creates feelings of anxiety and stress as students feel swamped with the task of completing each on time.
At Tutoring4All, our tutors are equipped with the understanding on how to best overcome these situations and provide our students with the personalised assistance they require.
Here are some of the ways we can help:
- Take the time to prepare a study timetable with our students. This helps them understand the best and most effective way to plan their time to ensure that their tasks are completed. Often taking the time of simply preparing the study timetable demonstrates to students the amount of time that is required to study and points out the unnecessary periods spent procrastinating.
- Rather than write a number of ‘to-do’ lists, our tutors help our students create SMART goals – these are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timely. In this way, the student knows exactly what needs to be completed and by providing a timeline in which it needs to be completed, the task actually gets done!
- As our tutors have themselves been in a similar situation to that which our students are currently experiencing, they can offer the ‘been there, done that approach’. This allows them to provide practical advice which is proven to be effective.
If your child needs some assistance with their organisation and knowing how to be use their time, feel free to contact us at any time to arrange some tutoring sessions.
